A really good tip that i recommend is listing out all the classes you need, and the semesters you have left, and filling them in. Your first semester might not have specific nursing pre reqs, but it should have the pre reqs to get into the pre req (chemistry). I know some people that had classes at state, ccsf, and san mateo county cc. You can definitely attend both, you would just send in two transcripts when you apply for programs. A lot of people that were in my pre req courses at CC went to state concurrently, even a couple of my professors taught at CC and state. I can't believe I forgot, but yeah since CCSF is free, try to take as many courses there as you can for your own financial sake. My sister is about to take classes to become an EMT actually, but since you already are one how time consuming is it? Thank you so much for the help again, I really appreciate it!! I took health classes in high school and know some medical terminology but that's about it.

Also, I am aware of having 100 hours of volunteer and was wondering if for some reason I am not able to volunteer at a hospital, do you think volunteering at a nursing home would be okay? I honestly do not have any experience and am not sure if a hospital would be willing to take in a student that has little knowledge. You said that you did just about this for pre-reqs but since I am going to be a first year my focus is mainly on GE's. I am sure GE grades matter (but I suppose not as much) however the fact that these are free, still online, and probably easier courses it just seems like a good idea.

Do you think it is possible for me to attend (virtually) both SFSU and my CC? I really want to take advantage of these free classes however I am not sure if this is allowed/if they will accept the units because I took it at the same time. I applied to CC in my city yesterday and am still waiting to be admitted. For this year I believe, CC is now free for everybody as Newsom has signed a waiver not too long ago. I actually just registered for CC in my city (since everything is currently online) yesterday. pls message if u have any more questions or want any clarification Take it one step at a time, and let your failures fuel you to continue to do better. One bad grade would ruin my mood and I would fear that I would never get in. Volunteer at a local hospital too! Lastly, its not easy to be a pre-nursing major. Try to get a CNA cert or EMT, I say EMT because you can administer meds, assess ect, bias since i am also a EMT lol. Followed by a good "why" (only for privates, publics dont care), hence the point system. Public or private, your grades in your nursing pre-reqs are the MOST important. I applied to USF, DU, and NYU and was able to get in a semester early due to less stringent requirements and no standardized testing requirement. But, do not limit yourself to just state nursing programs, apply broadly and to states and privates.SFSU acceptance rate for BSN program is so low (60 acceptees for 600 applicants) I opted to not apply to states because it was based on a point system and i lacked some points for not being a veteran, 100 hours of paid health experience, and so on.

If you really want to go to a state nursing program, then the TEAS is also very important. I would look at the programs you want to go, and follow their GE requirements, the CSU agreement is helpful and. I was able to get into all my pre reqs at CCSF without any priority status and paid a QUARTER of a price per unit. why? SFSU pre-nursing is heavily impacted and its hard, incredibly hard, to get your required pre-reqs. I got into SFSU for pre-nursing, but decided to not go and just go to city. I would also register at CCSF as a student so you have access to classes at state and ccsf. A little info about myself, started pre-nurisng 2018, got an A in all pre-reqs, and I go to USF for nursing now.
